The Nutcracker

We took Maddie to see The Nutcracker. She was so excited, she has been asking to go for two years. We went to the Sunday mantinee at 2 PM. We all dressed up in our holiday best. Here is Madison holding her Clara Christmas tree ornament. We asked her afterward if she liked it. Her comment was she wanted to go to the one where they talked in the play! She did enjoy it.

7 year olds know how to party!

Maddie turned 7 years old at 7:20 am on Novembers 14th! We celebrated her birthday several times but her party at Chuck E Cheese's really rocked. We had 25 kides and they were wild!

It was a good time to be had by all!

Halloween

Maddie was a cowgirl for Halloween, yee ha! Our front door was scary, Maddie made a sign that she posted! We didn't have many trick or treaters and Roy ate 1/3 of my candy before the day then we both bought more that day now Roy is eating all the leftover candy! He should have been a pig for Halloween.

Skating

Madison went skating with her girl scout troop yesterday evening. Roy did not want to take her so he skated on his duty. This is her 2nd time to skate and she really likes it. I was anxious she would give up when she fell, but she just picked herself up and kept going. I couldn't resist the "fall" picture. It was poor lighting so the photos aren't the best.

Some things never change

Hi,

Madison's grandmother, Nanny, is here to help me while I recover from my hysterectomy. She has been a great help, three squares a day. Last year in kindergarten, Madison's class planted a lima bean to see how they grew. Well of course she wanted to plant her newly sprouted plant in our garden. We have a huge vine with lots of bean on it. The only problem is us city dwellers had no idea when they were "done" and what to do with them. Well, Nanny to the rescue. She saw the plant full of beans and promptly had her son Ha Ha Ha pick them with her. It is not like he has a business to run or anything. We had a great dinner of them that evening. The picture shows Madison shelling beans with her grandmother. She thought it was great fun!

Maddie's first day at school

Ok, today was the BIG DAY! The first day of first grade for Maddie. She popped out of bed when our alarm went off in our room not hers. It was 6:30. She put on her uniform and the skirt is too big but she would not let me tighten the buttons. There are two settings. It was bedlam when we reached the school with all the parents getting their chicks settled. She was pretty quiet when I left I couldn't tell what she was thinking. I will find out in a few minutes how her day went. There are 22 kids in her class and they all looked soooo cute in their uniforms this morning. We met her teacher yesterday and really liked her. First grade is a big step from Kindergarten. She will have spelling tests and homework. It takes two of us to keep up, I don't know how people do it with more than one child.

Chuck e Cheese

My sister-in-law was kind enough to set up my blog. It is great to have a brain in the family. On her blog she had cute pictures of her girls at Chuck e Cheese so I have to post mine too. What a cute kid. She has me wrapped around her little finger, that is how I ended up at this place.

Hill Country Hyatt

We took a mini vacation to the Hill Country Hyatt and Sandy, Jay and Brandon joined us. We drove into San Antonio to Sandy's favorite restraunt La Fogata. Brandon went a little wild on his hairdo and we all had a great time.

Two yolk egg

Ever seen a two yolk egg? We were surprised this morning when I cracked this one into the pan. Roy would not eat it. Picky, picky, picky not bottom of the bag crumbs or tomato butts either. I was going to post our 4th of July pictures but they are on Maddie's camera. Sorry this is my first try.

Party Dress

Maddie wanted a "party" dress to wear to birthday parties but of course once I bought it she had to wear it to school. She loves to dress herself, hence she wears the shoes she likes whether they match or not. Her eyes are red because she had a melt down over her hair. She doesn't like me to mess with it in the mornings. Look how big my beautiful girl is!!!
